SMART Golf Tournament

Information on the next tournament has not yet been posted. Check back!

Money raised from this event provide scholarships to graduating students from Frederick High School and grants for teachers to buy items for their classrooms.

Please help! We need golfers, sponsors, and some people to donate to the golfer bags.

This is a 4-person scramble: a men and women’s mixed team event. Teams are four golfers and the entry fee includes lunch. Golfers may register separately or as a team. If registered separately, the golfers understand they will be placed on a team. In the past, the tournament has been held at Bella Rosa Golf Course, 5830 Bella Rosa Pkwy, Frederick, CO 80504.
Tee-time is an hour after check-in.

Want to Help With the SMART Golf Tournament?

A scholarship golf tournament is a fundraising event organized to generate funds for scholarships or educational programs. Here’s a general outline of how FHSEF’s SMART Golf Tournament typically works. Volunteers are helpful for every stage:

1. Planning and Organization:

Set Objectives: Determine the fundraising goal and the type of scholarships or educational support the tournament will fund.

Choose a Date and Venue: Secure a golf course and set a date for the tournament. Ensure it accommodates the number of expected participants.

Form a Committee: Assemble a team to handle various aspects of the event, including logistics, marketing, and sponsorships.

2. Promotion and Registration:

Advertise the Event: Use social media, local media, and community networks to promote the tournament. Highlight the cause and the benefits of participating.

Register Participants: Players sign up in advance, either as individuals or teams. Registration fees typically go towards the scholarship fund.

3. Sponsorship and Donations:

Seek Sponsors: Approach businesses and organizations to sponsor holes, provide prizes, or support the event in other ways. Sponsors often receive recognition in event materials and on the course.

Collect Donations: Besides registration fees, donations can come from participants, local businesses, or auction items.

4. Tournament Day:

Check-In: Participants check in, receive their scorecards, and possibly goodie bags. They might also get information about the day’s schedule.

Play: The tournament is usually played in a scramble format, where teams of players work together to achieve the best score. This format is popular because it encourages teamwork and makes the event more enjoyable.

Activities: Additional activities such as raffles, auctions, or contests (e.g., longest drive, closest to the pin) can add to the fun and raise extra funds.

5. Post-Tournament:

Awards Ceremony: Recognize top performers and distribute prizes. Acknowledge sponsors and volunteers for their contributions.

Celebrate Success: Announce the amount raised and explain how the funds will be used to support scholarships or educational programs.

Follow-Up: Send thank-you notes to participants, sponsors, and volunteers. Provide updates on how the funds are benefiting students.

6. Allocation of Funds:

Award Scholarships: Distribute the scholarship funds according to the established criteria, which may involve a selection committee or application process.

Report Results: Share how the funds are being used and the impact on students, which can help build support for future events.

These tournaments not only raise funds but also foster community spirit and support educational initiatives.
